The transition from late spring into early summer was a long awaited event for all of us this year, and she graced us with vibrant blooms on which to feast our eyes after a long, harsh winter. Say it with me... we love summer!!!
As most of you already know, I specialize in botanical and floral tattoos, and peonies are among some of my favorite flowers to sketch. They have a huge range of colors and shapes and they make for super interesting and beautiful tattoo designs!
That said, I'd like to share with you some of the various peony tattoo designs I've done for my lovely clients over the years. I hope they can serve as inspiration for those of you thinking about getting one somewhere down the line. And of course, these are meant as inspiration only- I'd be happy to draw up something similar but custom for you if you decide to book in with me!
From quick sketches to finished designs.
I like to take photographs for reference...
And turn it into something classic
Simple flower
Bud and flower combo
Or designed as something compositional
With a fox
A nocturnal upper arm piece
As a background element
Housing some adorable sleeping critters
They pair well with snakes
A little edgier alongside some skulls
With other flowers
Or as pieces designed for specific areas.
Some shoulder blade and neck action
A shoulder cap
A shin piece
Flows beautifully on a thigh
As part of a larger body piece
Incorporated into a full leg piece
Some designs that are a little more sketchy...
For those still unsure...
