What I Tattooed in November: Custom Botanical & Nature Tattoos

Hey hey hey! How has your November treated you?? Can you believe it's the last month of the year already? Pretty scary huh? Well lets move on from that discussion, and focus on some good things 😂.

My November was pretty great! I spent the majority of it in the UK visiting my family (for those of you that don't know, I'm a Brit, I've lived in Canada for 8 years now). November is the most affordable time of year to head to the UK, probably because it's constantly raining, but who cares about the weather when you can watch Silent Witness, drink cups of tea and do jigsaws with you mum 😄.

I did two guest spots during my break, one with Tommy Gun Tattoo and a day visit to (the newly named) Harum Scarum in Kingsbridge, more on those later! And also spent a few days in Exeter visiting my brother and sister-in-law. Loads of family time, loads of chocolate, and NO matcha 😳 (well I managed to get the occasional mug, but few and far between). How did I cope?? I have no idea?

Tattoo Time

I left for the UK on the 12th November so I did get to tattoo a few pieces before I left...

Wendy

I was so excited to add this new hibiscus to Wendy's thigh 🌺. We tattooed the top two flowers over six years ago, and I love how this new piece flows right into the original work. It’s big, bold, and unapologetically feminine—exactly the kind of energy I love to tattoo. Organic floral forms like this are my absolute favourite to work on, blending power and softness in one design.

Alyssa

Alyssa’s story really stayed with me. During COVID, while working as a nurse, she folded 1,000 paper cranes—each one representing a wish for the chance to have children. On the day she folded the final crane, she found out she was pregnant with her eldest child. These two origami cranes we tattooed carry that story forward, celebrating resilience, love, and wishes fulfilled. It was such an honour to create something so meaningful for her.

Jerry

I got to add to Jerry's incredible blackwork collection, and honestly, it was such a privilege. His tattoo lineup is absolutely 🔥, with work from some amazing artists, including the bird on his chest by @sickrosetattoo. It’s always such a cool experience to be part of someone’s tattoo journey, especially when it’s a collection as inspiring as his.

Aida

After seven years, Aida came back for more ink, and I couldn’t have been happier to see her again! 🌸✨ We added these fresh poppies to her healed mandala, and I’m so in love with how it all came together. Seeing clients return after so many years is such an honour—it’s a special kind of trust, and I never take it for granted.

Anna

Anna’s thigh tattoo is everything I love about tattooing. The flow, the detail, the empowerment it brings—it’s just perfect. The design features a cascading floral arrangement with a decorative sword as the centerpiece, symbolizing her love for books and the power of storytelling. She’s such a legend for sitting through this massive piece like a total champ—I couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out. It’s a perfect blend of elegance, meaning, and personal empowerment. 🖤🌿

Zoe

Zoe came to me with two really meaningful tattoos, and we worked together to connect them with some beautiful sunflowers. We added dandelion seeds to tie in her bunny tattoo and tropical leaves to flow with her bird piece. Seeing it all come together between her existing tattoos was so satisfying—I love making everything feel like it was always meant to be there.

GUEST SPOTS!

My November guest spots in the UK were such a highlight! I spent a week at Tommy Gun Tattoo in Plymouth, and honestly, it was so much fun. The studio is full of chatty, creative people, and the vibes were just amazing—exactly the kind of welcoming, energetic space where I love to tattoo. After that, I had a one-day guest spot at Harum Scarum in Kingsbridge, which had a completely different, but equally lovely, atmosphere. The studio is peaceful, spacious, and perfect for getting lost in the details of a piece. It was such a privilege to work in both spaces, meet new clients, reconnect with old clients, and bring their tattoo dreams to life! 🥰

I'm intending to guest again in the UK in March 2025, so if you're based out there and want to get tattooed get in touch!

Summer

This teacup tattoo for Summer was such a fun first piece to work on during my guest spot at @tommy_gun_tattoo. We added roses and camellia sinensis (the tea plant ☕️) to make it even more special. I love how it turned out—such an elegant addition to her collection. Check out her dog grooming salon @buzzandoreos 🥰🌿

Becky

I don’t usually tattoo ears, but I made an exception for Becky because she’s a friend (and I couldn’t resist this little leaf design 🌿). It’s delicate, minimal, and fits her so perfectly.

Christina

Christina wanted something to honour her Greek heritage, so we came up with these flowing olive branches during my guest spot at @tommy_gun_tattoo. We even added some little baby olives, botanically incorrect but totally adorable—because why not? It was such a joy to make this for her.

Lee

Adding this little hedgehog to Lee’s nature-inspired sleeve was so much fun! We started his sleeve about 7 months ago, and it’s been amazing to see it come together piece by piece. We surrounded the hedgehog with blackberries and leaves to really capture the woodland vibe that reflects his love for Devon flora and fauna. We also added a rabbit to the back of his forearm (you’ll have to check out my Instagram to see it!), and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s all coming together. Tattoos like this are always my favourite, especially when I get to create them for friends like Lee. 🖤🌿

Megan

Last but very much not least... Megan’s thigh tattoo is such a showstopper! The peonies and botanical elements flow so beautifully with her natural contours, and the whole piece feels bold and cohesive. I love working on large-scale floral tattoos like this—they make such a statement while still feeling soft and organic.

This was a special project that we strategically completed over two sessions, one at Tommy Gun Tattoo and then a week later at Harum Scarum. I normally leave a good three weeks between healing, but we didn't have that luxury during my visit, so I was careful to leave the first session 'complete' so I didn't have to tattoo over anything whilst it was mid-heal.
