AFTERCARE

Taking care of your beautiful new tattoo is important!

Tattoo aftercare is simple but essential. Please fully read this through.

--------------->

The first thing to remember is.... be kind to yourself after getting tattooed!!!

Plan in some rest time, take it easy, eat your favourite snacks.

KEEP IT CLEAN

Keep your bandage on for 3-4 hours.

Wash your hands before touching your tattoo .

Take off your bandage in a clean bathroom and wash it immediately with unscented soap and warm water.

Pat dry with paper towels or a fresh clean towel.

Repeat twice a day until fully healed.

Make sure to use clean towels, bedding and clothing while your tattoo heals.

MOISTURISE

Your tattoo will dry up as it heals (much like a scrap would). You will experience some flaking as the skin heals and occasionally some scabbing. This is normal.

Use an unscented white lotion to moisturise your tattoo.

Use a small amount as needed. Twice a day often works well but you may want to up it as it dries up

Don’t smoother your tattoo, up the frequency not the quantity!

DON'T!!!

Scratch or pick your tattoo whilst it’s healing (I know it’s hard).

Soak your tattoo - no swimming, saunas or hot tubs (showers are fine).

Sit in the sun! Especially whilst it’s healing and once it’s healed always use sunblock.

Consult google for aftercare advice!

REMEMBER...

Keep it clean!

Everyone heals at a different speed.

Keep up with this aftercare until your tattoo is back to normal skin!

If you're struggeling to find unscented soap or moisturizer check the baby aisle!

Tattoo FAQ

How do I see your flash and one-off tattoo designs?!

Sign up to my newsletter! I always post them there first

Where the studio is located?

In Corktown! At 90 Sumach Street, Toronto, M5A4R4

Can I get tattooed while fasting?

It's best not to. Getting tattooed takes a toll on the body and if you're fasting you're far more likely to go into shock. I always recommend eating well prior to getting tattooed and also eating snacks throughout a tattoo to keep your blood sugar levels up

Can I get tattooed while pregnant // breast feeding

No, due to the risk of infection and blood borne disease being passed to the baby. It's always better to just wait.

Should I use numbing cream for my tattoo?

I recommend not using numbing cream, Firstly it can change the surface of the skin ti a more 'rubbery' texture which is harder to tattoo. also it stops my freehand designs lasting very well, and finally it doesn't last very long (less time than they say), so by the time we've freehanded your design it's basically pointless. Your body is capable of getting though a tattoo session without numbing cream, trust it

What should I bring to my tattoo appointment?

Absolutely anything that will help make you more comfortable. I have plenty of space at the studio, so feel free to bring anything you like (I recommend cosy socks or slippers - we have concrete floors)
